Although just a five minute walk from Looe beach and the towns restaurants and pubs, Silver Birch is located on a narrow road which is accessible by hill. Due to this reason Silver Birch may not be suitable for guests with a mobility impairment. Guests requiring assistance with their luggage may request help prior to their stay and be assisted when arriving into Looe.
It is best to walk to Silver Birch from Looe town centre. Our road is the first left turning inside the town. Walking into the town there will be a long parade of shops on your left hand side and a car park (Looe Harbour Commissioners car park) on your right hand side. The turning is just after a pub called the Black Swan and opposite a large clock tower.
We are located a five minute walk from the bottom of the hill. At the top of the hill continue for approximately two hundred metres and you will see us. We have a white gate and white railings and hanging guesthouse signs.
Please note, the road that Silver Birch is located on, Shutta Road, is very narrow and has a width restriction of 6 foot three inches. We do not advise entering our road with your car. Please do not drive into Shutta Road.
There is a large long stay car park in Looe called The Millpool car park. The Millpool car park is located just over the bridge on West Looe and is a pay-on-exit car park. It is possible to leave your car in the Millpool car park for multiple days at a time and to purchase monthly season tickets. Parking can be paid for using the pay machines located in the car park itself or by using the JustPark smartphone application or telephone service. The location ID for the Millpool car park is 8308. 24 hours of parking in the Millpool car park is charged at £6 in summer months and £2.60 in winter months.
There is a small short stay car park called the Riverbank car park which is situated next to the BP petrol station. It is possible to park for free in the Riverbank car park from 6pm to 9am the following day. Any money paid into the pay machine before 6pm is subsequently carried over to the next day. Please note, this is a temporary car park and the maximum parking time during the day is 3 hours.
The closest car park to the Silver Birch is the Looe Harbour Commissioners car park (PL13 1HH) next to the bridge. Having driven past the petrol station on your right-hand side continue on and look out for the war memorial next to the start of the bridge. The entrance to the car park is just next to the war memorial.
There is free roadside parking opposite the BP petrol garage, on Station Road, from 5pm to 11am. This is a very handy place to park when arriving into Looe after 5pm.
We would be happy to discuss the parking options available to you during your stay if you contact us via email or phone.
